Advice:

  • Only accept help from people you know and / or trust. Never deal with unexpected cold callers
  • You do not have to agree to anything you don’t feel comfortable with
  • Police, health workers and others will not and do not call at your house to test for coronavirus or ask for money regarding investigations
  • Check the person calling at your door has valid identification, even if they are dressed in uniform
  • Do not transfer any money across to someone who calls you over the phone, banks will not ask for your personal security details
  • Do not trust anyone asking for money transfers or cash over the phone
  • Do not make shopping purchases from a company or person you do not know and trust. Use a credit card to pay to protect yourselves.

Community support

North Walsham Good Neighbour Scheme

The GNS are offering a range of support for those with nobody else to call on including frequent befriending telephone calls, shopping, dog walking, collecting medication.  Tel 01692 558321 for help or if  you would like to volunteer.

Food and shopping

Felmingham Village Stores are providing home delivery  Tel 01692 403340. 

Trunch Corner Stores have volunteers for telephone befriending, picking up shopping, medication, walking the dog.  The store owner Jenny Owen is co-ordinating tel. 01263 722072.

Mundesley – The following shops and services will deliver to anyone in the village who is in isolation due to the coronavirus.  Please contact each business for details and costs.

Social care

Dementia support at Furze Hill, North Walsham

The Salvation Army have had to close the respite days and Cameo sessions have also ceased until further notice.

Transport

Coach hire service Marrett’s Chariots, based in North Walsham, will help any vulnerable or elderly people needing any help with shopping, transport to doctors etc, free of charge.  Tel. 01692 406818
